Really, Really Cheap Lots in El Centenario

The owner of these lots is up in the States and ill...he needs to sell and so has cut the price to practically his cost. There are two 20 X 40 m lots for $16,000 USD each, and two 40 X 40 m lots for $30,000 each. They are located beside the Lomas del Centenario development. Water, power and sewer are on the main road 60 meters away. Pictures are available at this link:

Just a thought...............

From a marketing standpoint, trying to sell property in Baja (even just for a friend/acquaintence) with the nickname "roamingthroughbaja" doesn't promote warm and fuzzy feelings from a potential buyer.

Ha! Well, we used to roam through baja and then we fell in love with this area and bought a lot here, so we roam a lot less now, but we still roam from our home base. And that's our username.

I suppose that may be cheap when compared to nearby real estate but for most of the peninsula, really cheap would translate to less than $5000 USD.

Just saying.

Josie, for the location, views & proximity to existing utilities, those are AWESOME prices for this particular area!! Approximately 10 miles outside of La Paz, but close enough for easy shopping or medical runs.

Not to mention some terrific neighbors in the immediate vicinity!:biggrin::spingrin:

There are as many perfect locations as there are different people & their individual personal reasons to be attracted to a given property as there are lots & price ranges. Thank Gawd real estate isn't "one-size-fits-all"! That'd be soooo boring!

You're dead on, longlegs. (especially re the terrific neighbours...note the correct spelling...) I'm still waiting for the location of the $5,000 800m2 serviced view lots.

Actually, these lots really are the best deal I've heard of in a few years, at least since we bought ours in 2004 for 75,000 pesos. (no services for 4 years though)

Keep your knickers on - no need to get upset! I was merely commenting on the title of your thread. In these difficult economic times with highly deflated real estate prices I would be willing to wager you that most think of Really, Really Cheap Lots in Baja as a thread about some lots that are much less than what these go for. If you read my post I said they may be cheap when compared to nearby lots and they may be a bargain in that local market as you say.

The flip side is that if you think that you cannot get a Baja lot with a spectacular ocean view for $5000 or less then you need to get out more. They probably won't be near a major city or boast an international airport, major shopping centers, paved roads, sewers or Applebees. Some people actually want to get away from that stuff. They mainly want the peaceful beautiful views that are available for just a few thousand dollars all over the peninsula.

That was the only point I was trying to make and I am sorry you took it so personally. Not meaning to cut in on your commission or anything.

Hey Josie, my knickers never came off...I was just wondering where those lots were you mentioned. I don't take anything personally, but I'm always interested in other's viewpoints. I figured the days of the $5,000 serviced lots were over, but if they're still out there, I want one!

I know a little about this area and these lots are a great deal.

Priced well under the current market (even this deflated current market).

Two of these lots were sold, and then the owner raised the price to $19,000 on the others. The remaining lots aren't as good, but, there you go. There is one other great deal we know about...20 X 40 power, water, sewer with great views for $22,500. There were 3 of those, but only one left.

a guy came over yesterday offering a really really cheap lot in Asuncion(he has a debt he needs to pay off)...412 square meters...gorgeous ocean view of the whole bay, level lot ready to build, hard ground...no service yet as it is in the back of town but houses are springing up there already...$2,000 U.S.
Now THAT's a deal eh! The only neighbOUR is a cop so should be a safe spot!!! so cheap deals are still out there but dont last long.
