Mexicali to San Felipe

The highway near Rio Hardy is ripped up for 4-5 miles due to the new road being built. Be prepared to deal with a wash board infested dirt road ! It's slow going.

Same thing for the military check point area. I t seems the road is ripped for 8 miles or so...but I didn't actually check the mileage. This area is not as bad as the Rio Hardy area...

Military check (searching car)s going on as your travel south....I rarely seen this going on...added another 15 minute delay.

Brand new military post being built on the freeway as well. Looks like a toll bridge. Pictures later.

I go to SF every couple of weeks and they have been checking my car going south for the past 2 or 3 years.

And since I am from Arizona I am sure that they will be checking my car and probably my prostate.

As a side note for the Zonies that come to SF and drive threw San Luis, there is now a perminent Military Check Point just after crossing the Colorado River.

We have a home in SF and have never been inspected go south. Could be from that NY incident or something...

I am assuming you are talking about the military check point where 3 and 5 meet.
Myself and everyone in front of me has always been checked going south for the past 2 or 3 years. They don't tear the car apart, but they make us get out of the car and look in the glove box and the back of the truck.

Yep, things are a changing for San Felipe and hopefully a toll road like the one down to Puerto Penasco "The Rock." will be built to make this trip down safer and quicker. San Felipe and Fish Tacos just go hand in hand,LOL. Later, "No Hurry, No Worry, Just Fun" bajafun777
