Cheap low flow W/C?

If been informed by SWMBO that she ain't going to our little love shack in Baja anymore unless I change the stained toilet. I've tried everything under the sun to clean it but it just won't come clean. I'm sure more than one of you guys have been faced with the same ultimatum - what did you get? I'm on a dinky tenaca so I'm assuming a 1.6 gallon/flush?
What's funny about this is our land lord used to have at least 20 laying around the place but they've all been dumped into the ocean making a nice little bass reef in front of our place.

Didja try cleaning the old one with some dilute muriatic acid? Has to be a little weaker than regular strength or it will etch the porcelain.
They sell muriatic here in the grocery stores.

No, that's the one thing I didn't use. Might as well give it a try. Is it called "Muriatic" in spanish?
I'm inclined to change it anyway as to reduce the amount of water use. Women do a LOT of flushing.......

Be very careful with that stuff. Wear rubber gloves and be careful what you splash it on...serious chemical burns and noxious fumes...It does work though and you can, and shoudl dilute it by 1/2

Mexico!! Where two can live as cheaply as one.....but it costs twice as much.....

Muriatico......be sure to dilute the stuff. Try 2x1, acid to water, for starters.

If you want to convert it to low-flow, pile up a few small bricks in the tank for displacement.

When all else fails, I've seen cheap toilets for sale at Home Dpo here for around 75 bucks.

It comes in a yellow bottle, just pour a little in leave overnight and brush. Not really that dangerous mexican women use it. Ok 1/4 cup. mas or menos.

We have istalled a Toto toilet in our latest remodel ... and it is fantastic. Not too expensive either.

Here's some good info...

We have used a pumice stone with great results. You can find them in most grocery, hardware and Wal-Mart stores.

Yep. Pumice stones are what I use in the US. Kind of gross to think about it. Just put on the rubber gloves. But I'm only dealing with hard water stains. Nothing too disgusting.

And just replaced the toilet in the camper for the princess's hiney. It makes her happy to have a new one again. There's a lot to be said for a new toilet and a woman's renewed interest in driving 12+ hours to vacation in dirty little BOLA.
