I leave this Friday for PVR and will be using them again and will report back any change.

I used Delta Truck Parking about 2 months ago. It was $7 day, maybe a little cheaper by the week. They drove me to the Otay Mesa border crossing, I walked with my suitcase and sporttube with spearfishing gear about 4 minutes over the border, through customs, and into a cab for the TJ Airport ($12). Was easy as pie6119389638747. Coming back the cab from the airport to the Otay Meas border was ($17). Make sure you get a cab back for $12 too. You go through US Customs, and walk about 100 yards to their pickup point back to Delta Parking. I would use them again, it was very easy. There is even a YouTube video of the walk over the border into a cab. You book the Delta Parking online first, print it out, and give the conformation printout to the guys there when you get there.

I have never booked online. I just drive in. Sign my name. Get into there transport car to take me to border (or airport if they can). Quick and easy. Never waited.

How did you get a $12( instead of $17) taxi fare back to the border? They never negotiate with me at the airport. All standard rates.

There is also secure parking on the Mex side of the San Ysidro crossing right where you end up when you walk across. I think it's around $5.00 a day. Fenced in, lighted, manned 24/7. Lots of cabs there to take you to the airport.

The new airport bridge should open up a lot of parking options at Otay when it's operational (next summer is currrent estimate).

Yeah, whats the deal with getting a ticket for a cab out of the airport to the border? Theres about a dozen girls lined up waving yelling for you to buy taxi tickets. I've always bypassed these gals and headed to the taxi line where on the way everyone you pass is trying to sell you a ticket. I've always gone to the head of the line and someone there writes a ticket and gives it to the first driver and off we go. Doesn't matter if you are one or four its $$200 pesos each. Am I missing something? Also on the way to the airport I always bypass the gold taxies at the aduna and cross the traffic to the cheaper taxies by the chorro stand. Used to be 50 pesos but now 60 pesos to the airport.

I'm heading to PVR tomorrow via TIJ airport and would like to know this also.

@phil C
Can you be more specific on where you get the cheaper taxis to the airport? You mention "crossing traffic". Are you saying catch a taxi on the other side of the street? Taxis have to make a U-turn, correct? I don't remember the layout.

BTW, after googling "aduna" I figured out you meant "aduana" (customs) :biggrin: mi espanol no bueno :lol:

mrfatboy sorry for the confusion. After you go thru customs, press the button for the red or green light, you walk out and the first thing you see is a line of taxies. These will take you to the airport. A less expensive taxi is across the "street", really the border line. There is an obvious way to go across thru the cars waiting in line with gaps in the cement blocks that separate traffic and another turnstile on the east side of the "street". On this side is another group of taxies. If you have a lot of luggage, take the first taxies.

No problem. I have always taken the first taxis. We travel light nowadays. The lighter the better. :) I have gotten it down to a over sized backpack/carry on. Better yet, I have gotten my wife to do the same :lol: The timeshare people at the PVR airport don't even bother us. LOL.

Just to be clear, you are saying there is an actual taxi stand on the other side or are you just catching a taxi that just dropped off people crossing the border north?

Thanks for your help.

Did the trip this morning. Looked a bit for the stand but wife didn't want to bother. Maybe you could post a pic with the exact location highlighted for future reference? I still would like to try next time ;)

There is a bus stand just passed her taxis that take you to the airport for a $1 if so inclined.

Btw, the delta parking guys told me that they no longer take you directly to the airport($20 extra) because the mexican taxi drivers were getting peeed off.

Also you now have to pay in advance at delta parking. But you can make a reservation on line and pay by credit card. I'll do that next time. :)

I'm sitting on the beach in PVR with a c-cktail now so all is good :)
