1966 Ford Bronco-Built for baja, BCS plates



1966 Ford Bronco with over $35k invested. full frame off restoration performed 4 years ago.
$11k built 289ci, with a 500cfm, and a extra 625cfm carb, cams, Mallory billet ignition, ford racing headers and straight pipes, mustang serentine conversion
Converted to disc brakes
converted to power steering
Converted to automatic
Full roll cage
Soft top
Fully rhino lined
Custom seats
Tuffy center consol box
Custom Bumpers front and rear
9000lb winch
Optima battery
4" suspension lift
33" tires on 15"x 10" custom wheels
Steering stabilizer
Differential locker in rear
Everything has been rebuilt in the last 7K miles!

Imported...with BCS plates

If you want a Classic Bronco with BCS plates...now is your chance...You'll never again be able to import one to baja with the current regulations. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity....Selling only because we are about to start construction on a new home.

hey "bajabronco"
maybe you could help my buddy out ?
he's got a late 70's/early 80's k-5,down in gonzaga bay
he's had all kind of "people" look at it for him about its problem.
Thought I'd give it a try,,,,,

whats been happening is the bronco doesnt like to start once its warmed up !

he says he's movved/replaced the module/moved/replaced fuel components
its fuel injected,so vapor lock is out. ?

any thoughts ?????maybe you know a "bronco-nut" that might help ?

any help.....mighty thanks !

The best bet is to go to this site, scan the tech forums, if he can't find anything, have him sign in and give a detailed explanation...including a full description of the parts he's running.

These guys know their Stuff, I don't have Fuel injection so I can't help in that area. I have choosen to keep it simple with the carbs.

This is a early bronco site, You said your buddy's rig was a K5, but you also said it was a bronco...This site only applies to broncos, but with a little searching I am sure he could find a k5 specific site..

maybe not...

some of my old porches used electric injectors
these only fire so many times like a lightbulb
then they'd stick...gas in the oil

when the car heated up a little
it stopped running and
it acted like vaporlock

could be dirty injectors

mecanical injectors need a machine shop to clean correctly
electrical injectors need to be replaced

what I think he said that after it was warmed up it would not start again.
I had the same problem many years ago,

it was the starter motor,, that was the problem

cj5orion references a K5 which is a Chevy, Bronco is Ford. So there you go, Chevy don't work no good in Baja like dem Ford, everyone done know dat.

I had a late 70s K-5 Blazer with a vicious vapor locking problem. Tried everything until I finally found the solution -- I sold it and bought an 84 Bronco. Loved that thing, but had to get rid of it after I broke the frame in two places driving those excellent Baja roads. Been driving F150s ever since, and am about to notch 120,000 miles on my latest one.

F150's are great in Baja. I've had 3 a 1998, 1997 and a 1999. The 98 I bought with 57k and ran it in baja and Alaska until 165k, sold it bought the 97 with 143 drove it until 160k now it is our property truck for the caretakers, the 99 i bought has 120 drove it until 145, sold it off. I am now looking for #4. I like the 97-2003 models with the 4.2 v6 98 being my alltime favorite. All the rigs spent their life being beaten offroad a few unauthorized flights off of unseen drops while driving a little too fast. Not one broke on me, just oil changes and the min maintainance
