Great decor for your Baja casa

All you need is $$$$$$$$$$$$$.

I got an unsolicited catalog from Crow's Nest Trading Co. I usually toss junk mail right away, but the cover was intriguing so I decided to look it over. It's rugs, furniture, ladies' clothing, jewelry, art etc., all in Southwestern/Mexican/Santa Fe style.

Some really beautiful stuff, but ohmyfreakingawd:o, the prices are unreal. The "rustic" furniture runs into the thousands. This is a catalog for people who don't need to ask how much. I probably need to toss it or hide it from the wife, but it's nice to look at, maybe get some ideas, maybe cut out pictures and look for local artisans to rip off some copies...

All my childhood I wanted to be older. Now I\'m older and this chitn sucks.

I've experienced a number of web sites that grossly overcharge for Mexican goods. For instance, check out Mex-grocer. com, and then head over to a local So Cal Mexican oriented supermarket. price difference are startling. In the greater LA/ Orange County area, two significant market chains come to mind. Vallarta, and Northgate. Obviously, this is more about food. But, when it come to furnishings, your advice about clipping pictures and heading SOB makes immense sense. Noting that crowsnesttrading is located in North Carolina, just have to think that given their distance from Mexico, they are pandering to a market that is willing to pay for the privilege of owning such decor.
