Whale Shark pics from shore
These were taken Tues. 8/3/10. This Whale Shark is the biggest one I've seen cruising the surface. It was a lot more impressive than the photos can
convey.
Any way I thought I'd share one of the unexpected treats one can see from shore in the SOC. Taken with a 500mm lens the Whale shark was maybe 75 yards
off shore & 200 down the beach from me.
here the tail is come around 360º and is facing the wrong way
It cooled down quite a bit from yesterdays 104º

I think I hear your house calling you and then over to the coast to find the corbina/halibut holes?

Just great Russ!!! You can see the bubbling/gurgling they do at the front end when they are feeding. Also I love the one where you caught him/her in
a turn!! Wonderful. Monopod or tripod?

May and June we had a few groups here. One had what seemed to be a family of 4 all different sizes. The others were 1, 2 or 3 all really friendly.

Dont laugh but we named them. Lucy, Ricky, and Ethel from our fall trip. Also, the May and June visit brought more groups. We think they were the same
ones but not certain. Yes, Russ the fin does look bigger than Lucy.

fall 2009 and May 2010
Have they moved in? We thought they moved on . Anybody know if these friendly whale shark migrate or what? Or our waters are rich in food... anyway we
all have had an unique experience with them. Having one come up under the kayak on the mooring was a heart stopper.

Punta Chivato/Shell Beach. I think they do migrate in so much as they follow the food supply. BOLA is suppose to have a lot of them too.
Cochi, Had some guy drive up my driveway in his little blue beach buggy yesterday and when I told him he had just driven through my yard he told me I
was the most unfriendly person he's ever met in Baja. Tried to lay a big guilt trip on me. I don't think he'll be driving though my yard again... I
hope. He's bigger & younger than I am.
