Yup, Bob....major changes and improvements to existing highways do require detours.
But...the new, smooth 4-lane WILL be ready sometime this fall, right? RIGHT? RIGHT?
I'll be hauling lots of coolers full of game.
I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.

Avoid Hwy 3 south of Tecate! ?
Waiting for the attack and put downs for suggesting such a thing!
(sounds exactly what I reported last month)
Thanks Bob... I bet it will be a long process to rebuild the highway... But when it is done... it will be nice considering all the cargo trucks that
use it.

Yup. I just took the road on Saturday night. Miserable.
And the checkpoint going north actually had a real live pot-sniffing dog, along with older marines in body armor.
I miss the 18-year-old soldiers with the "magic wand" pot detectors!
I noticed that both the other vehicles in the US Customs secondary inspection were old dirty beaters like mine. Can't narcotraficantes afford good
cars now?

I guess you mean the 42 Killometers on the Tecate end. The west end at Ensenada is done nicely but then they will have to do the central portion
before road is really good.
