We fished San Quintin today. We headed South looking for the white sebass Water temp was 55 and green. Tons of reds and bottom fish. Only saw 1 white seabass caught. Not sure how the island was but we will go there tomorrow.

Woody - you are right, I have never ever seen so much june gloom. july and august gray in San Diego - heck - it was even cloudy in ALWAYS sunny la Bocana today. But at least the temps are warm and nice all day almost always !!

thanks for the report. heading down to san q. this thursday, fishing friday, and saturday. if it ain't happening, bahia la monday for at least a day or two. i'm going to keep going south until i find a good bite...yt, dodos, or tuna.

this is the coldest summer i have had in San Quintin in 30 years. about 12 years ago or so we had to light the fire pit in the restaurant in July it was so cold but then in Oct. it was really hot.
maybe that will be this year.
keep posted on the fish have some guys coming this next weekend for fishing. hope they get something.

that wsb was caught at 80ft on a blue/white metal, 50 lbs., nothing at the island, but the water was a little warmer 58 degrees..lol. friday they tried 6 fathom where two san diego sportboats were, just bottom stuff...no yts.

i am thinking labor day weekend now for old mill and a few days ahead of that actually like sept 1st and hang a week.

I was thinking of stopping on the way back from La Paz, maybe just stop for beer , or stay south another day. Keep up the reports, will have to decide what to do next Sunday.
