La Fonda

Hola Nomads!

The waves are pretty much flat here in Ensenada, but i was wondering if anybody had any pull over at La Fonda as far as access? I'd really like to avoid paying 15 bucks to surf the beachbreak for an hour! I know it's pretty far-fetched, but thought I'd give it a shot anyways. ;D

park along the road, or in front of one of the restraunts. tell them what you're doing and that you'll come in for a drink or some eats after surfing. or give their watchman $5.

Try giving him a couple dollars, and tell him a few more when you return to an unmolested car or truck. Incentive!!:light:

Aren't there lots behind La Mission Restaurant? I recall parking there for no charge.

How Bout

Why not go into K-58 camp grounds. Either pay the kid 5 bucks at the gate and he'll let you through or lie to him and tell him you are going to the plane guy or visiting a friend in camp and it's free.

How's the surf in front of the Pyramid? Maybe Keri can help here.

I have always seen many surfers, both local (i.e. Latino) and Americans park across the street and walk down the middle of the parking lot and walk down the stairs to the beach. In addition they have been using the outdoor shower facility to rinse off.
I don't think the new owners are giving any hassles at this time. But next door, at Poco Cielo, Cheryl will be happy to accomodate any and all surfers. AND, they also have an outdoor rinsing shower.
Margaritas are not bad either at $1.00 U.S.

It's flat out there, at least in Playas de Tijuana and I can't imagine it being much different at La Fonda. Hot day here at the beach in TJ, maybe 80 degrees mid-afternoon. I almost started sweating on a beach walk. Very uncomfortable. I'm hanging in the shade.

Thanks for all the good info. It is pretty sweltering today finally. I'm sweating too. I think a little south swell is coming tomorrow so probably will be something little over at La Fonda. 1$ margs? whoa, who will drive me home?

K 58 through 60 have been a legenday surf hang-out because even when K1 through 57 are flat, 58-60 are always decent.
If you are a surf-fisherman, u2u and I'll give you the hot spot:bounce::o:bounce::bounce:
