Red Cross almost out of Resources: Could close La Rumorosa, San Felipe and San Quentin

Make sure you have a back-up plan...

The Red Cross needs 2 Billion pesos and could soon close its doors in La Rumorosa, San Felipe and San Quentin. The San Felipe Red Cross is operating on weekends only and does not currently have electricity. (The delegation of San Felipe alone requires a million pesos).

Tragic indeed. I know that we all donate when the cruz roja funds drive is in full swing every year but what I don't understand is the fact that they sometimes turn down donated used ambulances from the states and they go out and buy these fancy, very costly, european models.

I thought the Red Cross was an international organization. Can't they request funding from HQ? Nevertheless, I agree we should all contribute when we can.
