Bicycle Races

There use to be a bicycle race from Mexicali to San Felipe and one from Tecate to Ensenada (really tough one). Are they no longer being done?

Tecate to Ensenada has not been done in years. Maybe if they ever finish that road construction it will resume. Mexicali - San Felipe I've not heard of. A good place to find the bike rides is here: http://asociaciondeciclismobc.com/ (not the world's best website by any means!) and here's their facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/asosiacionbc

Tecate to Ensenada....to final resting place. That would be suicide.

Wow, the Mexicali to San Felipe hasn't happened for years but it was a tough ride, I dropped my friends off in Mexicali and had to rush to San Felipe to wait for them,LOL. I was responsible to be at the entry of San Felipe as they finished to have the cold beer ready in the truck. I did my part and yes I did drink a few waiting but what the heck. They only did this race from mexicali to San Felipe twice that I can remember and to which I helped my buddies by dropping them off and picking them up. Think the last time was in early 90's but not real sure. The one from Tecate to Ensenada only had buddies do that one once and they did not like it at all!!

I live in Rosarito off of Popotala Blvd. and have watched the start of the race for a few years-this year was so fun-good costumes, little kids, and wonderful weather!

Thanks to everyone for the info. I didn't do either but saw them a couple of times.

The Mexicali to San Felipe race was a long one for sure.

The Tecate to Ensenada was a tough one, I had a friend that did it a couple of times. There were places he had to walk up. Obviously they won't be doing it again, if ever, until the new road is finished.

That is great. I had some friends that raced in it and they said it was one tough race with the hills. I'll let them know it's coming back.
