Mexico seeks US help to combat kidnapping

Sep 29, 2010

Baja California, Mexico -- The state of Baja California is asking the US for help in addressing the problem of kidnappings for cash.

Baja California's Attorney General recently met with the head of the Senate's Foreign Relations Committee to discuss implementing a new Mexican criminal code aimed at stopping kidnapping for ransom, which the Mexican Attorney General says is almost as big a problem as the drug trade.

He says he is grateful for the help and support the state has been getting from the US.

It's probably all the same people. We've discussed it here before.....when things get tight in one activity, they do something else.

Oh yeah....glad to hear they're thankful for something we do, but I hope all of this doesn't lead to us incarcerating all of their garbage at our expense.

Aren't MOST ?

Of those kidnapped in certain Targeted Groups ? Shouldn't it be up to them to demand better results from their own government ?

The "targeted group" now equals everyone. The cash demands are now a much lower amount- so more regular people are targets- both Mexicans and expats. There's no help available when the people rightly don't trust their police. Mexicans need a toll-free hotline that works from every type of phone and rings NOB and then sends help from there. Then they will pick up a phone- maybe.
