Leaving Mexicali

Drove at night to go home. Time: 8ish pm Saturday night. Pass a car /truck every two minutes on the lonely highway. No bandits attacked me. Got to Mexicali around 11ish. Police roadside inspection stop.....in downtown Mexicali. I "guess" it might had been for DUI check (?). They asked a few questions...like what was I doing in Baja....I pointed behind my car (fishing boat in tow). They laughed. Proceeded thru town. No police scams....no jail house rubber hoses. Did the speed limit more or less. Took only 35 minutes to get out of the Avenue of the Americans (amazing). Doggie sniffers did my boat....very pleasant drive leaving Baja.

I got long hair. A beard. A car with "kissmygrass" on it (!). Yey...no hassles. Dont understand all of this talk I hear about ...Mexicali cops rubbing up on one's leg for a bribe.

I have to agree with you, except the "kiss my grasss" bumper sticker.

We go down to San Felipe, every few weeks and have not any issues in several years. I have been stopped 2 or 3 times, but no issues and no mordita.

I usually come down via Hwy 2d through San Luis but going back, via Mexicali, old crossing, for SENTRI. However, while hauling a trailer last time, I noticed that they have the SENTRI sign up at the New Calexico crossing.

Nice to hear a report like this. Tired of hearing all the paranoid drama queens.

The kissmygrass is a company sign on my truck :-)

I dont think he was aiming at you....like me...tired of hearing blown out stories of the crime rate, bad cops, bad water...bla bla bla.

I have been pulled over twice in 40 years of driving sports cars, trucks and HD's ....oh and the family wagon. That includes a handful of countries including Mexico. Yep...speeding.

Just why were you pulled over three times recently? :o
