TRICARE Going International
Since we just had a discussion on medical insurance for those of us living in Mexico, I thought I'd pass this along.
Today I got a letter from the Department of Defense--delivered to me here in La Paz, no less (I never receive mail from the US)--informing me that
TRICARE will now cover military retirees who live outside of CONUS . If this applies to you, but you haven't gotten your letter yet and want to
know what it says, u-2-u me and I'll be happy to relay the info.

I wondered that too. I can't find any reference to Vets unless you're retired military.

I've been told by the VA that their care is not insurance in any sense of the word. They provide the care in-house only for those that qualify.

Sounds reasonable, Lou, although it is the VA. Everything depends largely on who you speak with..................not that any of them are uninformed
or anything like that.

Was told this in both the La Jolla and Albuquerque hospitals.
