Thanks Russ! By the surf , it looks like down near the cape. I've heard they have been catching a lot of snook in and around the new marina in SJDC.

A good sized snook is on my bucket list for sure, thought I would have to get him in Costa Rica but Humm maybe.
Rob

Anyone can catch fish in a boat but only \"El Pescador Grande\" can get them from the beach.

I hope when my time comes the old man will let me bring my rod and the water will be warm and clear.

a good friend of mine caught a 48# snook in almost the exact same spot a few years ago on live bait...i'm almost positive that area in the film is at punta arena just south of hotel punta colorada on the east cape..FABULOUS area for beach fishing!

Amazing how the fisherman/woman reacts with a "fish on". I do the dance too! Nice video. Txs 4 that Russ

Was he using a yozuri crystal minnow? Those things are hard to cast very far.

All I know is that I'm picking up a 10 or 11 foot spinning rod for the move to La Paz! Easy day trip from the house in El Centenario! I'll be down there for a few days at Thanksgiving, how is the surf fishing in late November? The boat will still be in La Mision.

I dont know about any snook here in San Jose but the surf fishermen have been hauling in the roosters right in front of the estuary. Three guys fishing together had 10 yesterday and it looked like about that many today. The water was boiling with them.

2 1/2 hr. boat ride

Pretty nice day so I launched the "Bonehead" and trolled in front of the houses where there are some reefs. It's my go to place and it was exceptionally SLOW today. All small stuff I didn't even want to take for tacos. Oh well, there's always maņana.

What a killer fish. Good eats too.
Definately not Punta Arena though...That's the Pacific side.

My bad. I meant to say that's the Pacific side shown in the video.
