Mail system in Baja

JRB, The mail system is very efective in Baja or at least in Ruben Jaramillo! I lived for a time at San Telmo 9 miles north of HW 1, we some times had mail forwarded from the states, at a little tenda in RJ you gave your name to the postmaster and he wrote it in a slip of paper and put it on a homemade mail slot. When the bus brought the mail he would put on his offical Mexican Post Office coat and hat and place mail in the slots. For first class mail he would take his old car and deliver it in the village. Our address was " Correo De Listo, EJ. Ruben Jaramillo BCN" + zip.
Last june I stopped to see the old man and it had moved but they said" Senor You have Mail!"The postcard had been waiting for me since 1994!

Hootersville

is what that sounds like to me hahahahaha. I love it. Bet he gave haircuts and performed weddings too!
In the cities the houses and businesses all have numbers, but there is no particular order to them. # 3 could be next to # 769 for instance.
And I don't think there are duplicates so it is most confusing as to who decides what numbers go where and why.
We get mail here regularly with no problems or particular delays.:?:

And if you don't mind my asking, what did you do in San Telmo ?
