dt's first annual Baja off road adventure
Well, I'm starting to put a pencil to our upcoming motorcycle adventure. We have put a lot of miles on bikes in Baja prerunning and racing but this
will be our first "bring a bunch of stuff and explore" type ride. It will be nice to be able to stop every now and then to eat, pee, take pictures,
fix bikes and smell the tacos.
"Disclaimer": I will not be asking for GPS coordinates to secret places or pictures thereof. I will try not to post any pictures of anybody's secret
place if it can be helped. I don't need maps or directions, I already have those.
I'm looking for some current info: Remote area gas availability for: Punta San Francisquito, El Arco, Santa Rosalillita, Punta Prieta (El Marrion),
Punta Cono, Bahia Blanca, San Jose de la Piedra.
I would like to ride from Rosalillita to Catavina (along the coast) and will probably need a little gas along the way. I could also use a contact name
and number for someone in San Francisquito to reserve a cabana and arrange for some gas.
Speaking of contacts, I could use a few more: Coyote Cal's in Erendira, Alphonsina's and a link to the Bahia de Los Angeles web site.......maybe I
could get somebody to put gas in the bike and change tires too ......
I'd like to thank my Nomad brethren and sistren for the help that will soon be flowing like water from a hose. I know that there will be sarcasm,

woooohoooo...that sounds like a fun trip bro..here is a bit of water from a hoser.....make sure you stay a night with Juan's cousin Martin Arce in
Rosalillita...he loves tecate and will show you a good time....maybe zoom out and check out Campo Alejandro too a few miles from Rosalillita..cool

dt - check BBP there were some pireps on PSFO not too long ago, and one of em had phone numbers i think to SD or TJ office.
i read they redid the baths and are working over the palapas, 'bout time!

Remote fuel on the Gulf might be a problem due to the drug war.
I was just at PSFO two weeks ago and they had plenty, but I was told that the soldiers were not allowing the smaller places like San Rafael to sell
it. Mabey the difficulty of beach landings on the Pacific side would allow for the remote places there to sell gas. I don't know. Have fun. By the
way, Spam and tuna now come in great little pouches for your protein fixes.

i like skinless sardines in cans. packed in water. add any hott sauce and go.
the salt in spam will dehydrate you fast.

I like Spam, I wonder if you can get "low sodium" in a pouch? Never tried skinless sardines, I'll check them out.
I'm still trying to find a contact number for San Francisquito and fuel availability around El Arco.

pretty sobering when you can clearly see miles of it from space....dt

Okay, So ditch the spam because of the salt. But you want to avoid the cans of stuff on the bike. Right? I sometimes carry a backpacking stove and a
box of mac & cheese. Then I throw the tuna in and bingo "pasta nicoise". In a pinch you can run the bike for a short time on the extra white gas
for the stove.
So are you carrying a sleeping bag, or are you going to rely on motels?

We won't be carrying any camping equipment. We will try to limit our travels to 100 miles mas o menos per day. We will have a support vehicle that we
will rendezvous with every other day or so. We will be relying on others for food, drink and lodging.....dt
