Tijuana Friday November 26th - Lucha Libre!

Okay, so this isn't a trip to Cabo, but a few friends from work are heading down next Friday to see a Lucha Libre match at the auditorio municipal. I've done it before, it's really good fun!

Park at the border, walk across, and take an $8 taxi ride. Buy the tickets (hopefully front row!), and then go to a taco place down the street before the match. Tacos de adobada are awesome! Then inside for $4 24 oz tecates in a cup. By the end of the night, you hopefully have accumulated about 4 or 5 of these cups. Great filled churros there too.

I missed your post Bajacat.

I'm not a big fan, just there for the beer and fun. Mystico was there, and my friend was stoked. At one point in the match, I gave my chair to one of the wrestlers to use to smack someone else over the head! Awesome!

I was there too. I wondered where that chair came from. The chair didn't fair very well after the 3rd guy was hit by it. I wondered if it was a prop and now I know it was real. I watched the woman make her rounds through the seats peddling the same pizza through the entire night. I kept thinking it must have become the worst excuse for pizza I could imagine. The family behind me had 4 kids and two of them sang songs for an hour while one of them tapped her foot against my seat back. Thank goodness there was beer! I enjoyed the advertisement poster in the ring between fights. You know the one for something??? being carried by the two...well you know.

I'd like to go to the Lucha Libre sometime. I used to go to the Jai Alai (sic) in TJ at night with my dad in the 60s. Always an adventure...and that's what life is all about, right?
