Off Road Clubs in La Paz?

I have my Jeep down there and enjoy exploring the back roads of Baja but I don't care to get too far off the beaten track by myself. Does anyone know of clubs in La Paz where I can meet others to buddy-jeep with?

I have found that clubs in Baja consist of a group of friends from a particular automotive shop that like to tak e their 4x4s into the deserts or mountains of Baja regularly. Many are very friendly, and accomodate Gringos with our someimes limited command of the Spanish language.

I think an excellent place to look would be your local 4x4 parts and installation shops. WWW.BAJA4x4.ORG was my only find, and the clubs on that forum are centered mainly in the Tijuana/Ensenada area, where the bustling population centers exist.

There are many locals in La Paz that run the Dos Mares race each year and usually have something going on each month. They put on car/jeep/buggy shows on the Malecon several times a year. Seem to be lots of participants involved. Need to talk with the guys driving around in their off road vehicles.

Contact these two as they may be able to help as they list off road races on the city web site.
