Anyone know the road the Punta Rosarito??
Hello, I'm driving to down to punta Rosaritio in a week or so in my Subaru Impeza (road pending). Has anyone done this drive before? Has anyone done
it recently? I'm just wondering on the current roads and if a subaru impreza can make it. Thanks for any input!

On another note has anyone explored the seven sisters?? If so could you let me know what the roads are like? Would a Subaru Impreza be able to make
this as well??

Welcome to Bajanomads!
The topic of detailed information on top surf spots is a bit of a sensitive subject on this board.
Some feel information should flow freely and others feel you will have to explore a little to get the prize.
There is a lot of general information that you seek on the web.
More importantly, you need to be well prepared for Baja offroad travel/weather etc. Learn what you need to take and who will be in the area if you
need help.
Heavy rains will bring potentially enormous challenges! Check your weather!
Then, go exploring!
If you have the time and persistence, you will EARN the prize.
We all know epic surf is very elusive. Your pursuit may take numerous trips (you will probably love every trip)

I just did a Google search on your car and you need more ground clearance. But what the heck give it a try, you can always turn around and it'll still
be fun.

I see the link from BajaNomad includes my road logs... which were only written to show roads in Baja, not anyone's special surf break (I never
indicated a surf spot, as I am not a board surfer).
Anyway, forget Punta Rosarito (The Wall) in a Subaru Impreza... Get a serious off road 4WD for places like that. However, the Mexican government has
paved a highway to Santa Rosalillita off Hwy. 1 and from there a graded dirt highway runs way, way north providing access to AWD and even 2WD powered
cars past Punta Maria.

I thot I read that the area north of Rosalilita was full of sand pit roads because of dump trucks hauling rock out of there?! It does dump rain in
that area too, during winter. Your Subbie four wheel drive? You can get to many places so at least a first taste is warranted! Be respectful and
don't takea crowd. Sale  Tio

the graded road running north from Rosalillita is really bad right now. horrendous washboard and some washouts. The coast road going south has 2 or 3
bad little arroyos that washed out the road. Both ways are totally passable with a high clearance / strong suspension vehicle or lots and lots of
patience.

Rock wall
Rock wall is well known to surfers. Many dry stack rock windbreaks have been built for shelter, thus the name ""Rock Wall." Get a AAA map or Baja
Almanac or both and you will find the road. Ive done this trip in a Subaru Brat many times. No problems on the road. If its on, expect a crowded
line-up. Good luck and have fun.

Hey thanks everyone for all the replies! I know I need a real 4wd but for now I'll have to make due with what I have. I'm going to just go for it,
worst case I'll have to turn around and surf a more accessible spot. Epic trip no matter what. I'm pretty stoked as I've been gathering up all my
supplies, I depart next week, I'll let yall know if I made it or not

have fun, watch out for Don Kay (the burro!) and if you take any pictures to post here, make sure you leave out any identifying land features, names,
etc..... everyone who has been will know where you went by the shape of the wave, anyways....
everyone else doing a google search will have to keep digging.

That used to be the fun of going way back in the 50's .... ya went really slow and worked your way down or which ever way you were going ... no
radio, no cell, no power, no ice .... pack it in and pack it out... 1937 Chevy two wheel drive .. straight six.. no A/C, no power windows.. no power
nothing just two doors with the back seat taken out to make into early camper in the trunk/back seat area... we kids thought it was really cool.. plus
it worked too.. the furthest we ever got was maybe 15 - 20 miles south of El Rosario .. we had been at Johnson Ranch and my Dad had heard about "this
place".... so off we went..
My Dad would carry a spare of just about everything on that car... plus the really basic things ... shovel.. and mats for crossing sand.. us two kids,
me and my brother would pull them the out the back and put them in front so the old man could drive "though" areas of sand... flats were fixed the old
way... those old "fire patches".. along with materials for making "boots" for the inside ... when a really bad rock tear happened ... ya couldn't call
for help.. and others on the road ... were really infrequent as I recall... but would give you what ever help they could.. and that worked the same
from our side... too ...
His early days 16- 20 were spent in AZ in desert durning the depression ... ya had to learn to get by...
The Baja trips I still remember to this day... thanks old man.. and to others we met long ago in the Baja .... RIP..

Great old time story wessongroup . I love read about the old days in Baja. Real guts back then.
Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

If you're just planning on staying at the Wall, which is the best wave there. You won't have any problems. There are enough people there that will
help you if you get stuck. I've pulled out a few vehicles myself from the north end sandy area.
Prior to the name "The Wall" it was named "Off-Roadies" because it was so close to the Hwy. Easy to find easy to get to.
