Resorts??
What resorts are these? I don't see roads. Accessible only by boat? I have been fishing in that area (way offshore) but have never noticed anything
along that part of the coast south of BOLA.

Yes, one was called La Unica... Eco-resorts that flew people into L.A. Bay (or drove there), then boarded a boat to go around the point.

I don't know... but I think not... with this economy who can take exotic vacations? The L.A. Bay airport has been officially closed as well... last I
heard.

The northern most site was called La Unica and is located on Pescador beach. It originally was run by a fly in service out of San Diego.
Bajaairadventures I think is the name, The owners name was/is Kevin. The property was owned by Fermin Smith in BoLA. Fermin took the operation over
from Kevin and tried to make a go of it himself, didn't work out though. Fermin has since sold the property to a wealthy Mexican named Antonio
Pacanini from Mexico city. Antonio has been busy building up the beach for his own personal pleasure. He keeps an '85 foot boat in the bay for his own
use. There are many rumors that the owner of the property is actually Carlos Slim, but I met Antonio when I installed a Starband internet service for
him there on the beach and he represented himself to me as the owner. Qien Sabe?
The other site is a beach named "Alacran" and is now owned by Kevin of the first story and he has built some cabins and still fly's in groups now and
then. He flies his groups into the supposedly closed airport in Bahia. For a closed air strip there sure is alot of planes going in and out of there.
Again, Quien Sabe? Also I saw an advertisement about some lots for sale at the other end of Alacran beach that are for sale. Beautiful beach, but hte
only way in there is by boat at this time, maybe in the future there might be a air strip or even a road.

Thanks Larry... The airport may have been 'officially' re-opened... but since the BBP membership here hasn't been sharing any more updates from Baja
Bush Pilots, I am unsure... since the last I read it still didn't have a permit.

Neither 'alacran' or 'pescador' have any fresh water source, as far as I know from my observations and exploring. That limits their development, as
it stands now. Gorgeous beaches and setting, tho.
Maybe a desal plant would solve the problem, but big bucks required, and some sort of power.
I believe the northern site (La Unica-on Pescador beach) has been "there" since the early-80's, or at least that is the first time I discovered it.
We used to boat-camp there in the '70's and had it all to ourselves with no development----and this predated the sanctuary status on the little island
just offshore, also.

David- So little in Bahia happens officially, but it is still being used, probably not legally. I talked to a freind about his plane and didn't he
fear it being stolen? He said he feels that there is someone that is tipping off the bad guys where a desirable plane might be headed, so he files a
plan for somewhere else, say Loreto, and then lands at Bahia. So far no problems.
Barry- You are right no water that I know of either. At Pescador the guy brings water in on a large barge that he has there in Bahia, he also has a
large (50kw?) Cat generator on the beach, solar powered street lights on the beach, and a couple of large African style palapas with hard wood floors.
While I was over there they were milling and grooving the wood for the floors on site. There is a similar palapa up at Parador that must have been
built by his workers. There is no substitute for having money.
