Army Seeks to install a military barracks in Rosarito
This makes sense as the next security step for Baja norte. The Army presence allows the military to deal with the major security issues while the
local police return to "preventing crime" (wtf does that mean?) Face, it Rosarito is narco central lately. El Teo had a house in Popotla, Rosarito
where the human smuggling industry thrives to this day- even after the PGJE commander here was killed over it. Teo's crew is still based here
although most of the violence (dead bodies) is over in TJ. No wonder the hotel occupancy rate was 20% here last year. Bring in the Army- we need it.

ROSARITO, Baja California (PH)
military authorities are looking to put housing quarters in Rosarito to reinforce security operations in this county, so they are already looking for
land in donation which will be installed, the mayor Javier Robles.
He explained that on instructions from Gen. Alfonso Duarte Mujica, commander of the Second Military Zone, and made several tours of the city and is
very likely that the headquarters is located in the colony of August 17 for operational issues.
He said it is very likely that in the coming weeks to agree with the Ejido Mazatlan donation of land for the next few months that you can install the
barracks and in this way has the permanent presence of the Army, an organization that has is addressing the crimes of high impact.
Robles Aguirre said the militia would be aware in the surveillance of the streets of the city, which is to create a better security environment,
noting that the role of the municipal police is very specific and it relates to prevention of crime.
In that sense, the munícipe said that with the installation of the barracks, has been to give greater reassurance to residents and tourists who visit
Rosarito.

He'd have an open bar tab for them across the streeet too. I know of an empty $5 Million condo tower on the FMZ for them. They could spot every
smuggling panga from the roof.
The temporary barracks is to be in Ejido Mazatlan- across the street and up the hill from the "Bada Bing".

... and that temporary Army barracks will be perched high above the Popotla fishing village, the human by-water smuggling capital of Baja Norte. I'll
bet that temporary barracks never goes away with that location. Talk about someone looking over your shoulder...

not much that we hear about. El Teo used to travel from his house in Popotla to the Macho Taco's downtown late-nite with his entourage. The PGJE
commander was gunned down by his office on Popotla blvd. north of the Potpotla area. Both have the checkpoint in between. They really need
checkpoints north and south of Popotla for it to be effective. Right now you can just go around.

He's a good guy who learned from Montero- another good guy. Rosarito needs to get it's police cars fixed and then focus on neighborhood patrolling
again. The soldiers are here for the serious stuff now.
Part-time? Maybe means they don't want the narcos to think there will be soldiers up there watching them 24/7. or maybe the cartels are being told
not to go all ballistic as the barracks will be unoccupied at times and they can adjust their shipping and panga launch dates accordingly.
