Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

...there were SoOo many Tastys on our tray @ checkout, our eyes were bigger than our brains. All we could manage was a Bite or two of each, and then on to the NeXt one.

The Mexican pastires are really beautiful, but FOR ME, the flavor never matches the presentation. I know it's not the pastries, it's me. If I'm going kill my diet and eat something that looks like a dressed up Dunkin Donut, it had better taste like one. I just like my pastries sweeter than Mexicans do I guess. God know's Mexicans aren't afraid of sugar.

My Mexican family prefers them exactly like this and most grocery stores in Rosarito bake everything in-house. They are pretty, have less sugar and seem to be on the dry/doughy side. My family enjoys them at night, dipping them in a hot abueltia-coffee-sugar drink while watching telenovelas. I make my Yankee cream puffs (Boston Creme Pie) every holiday and they go crazy. :) It makes them happy as a clam, but it;s still no almeja.

Tis funny, For some reason I have always loved Mexican pastries. I never cared for Gringo donuts Etc.. When in mexico I go nuts for the sweet things. Now as I get older I am more selective. Many years ago in San felipe I visited a Panaderia, very small, the owner laughed at me and said, Now remember I do not speak Spanish, my little Gordito you are el Guapo!

And now you post these pictures that are so?????

What significance this has is probaby irrelevant, but I LOVE BAJA! :bounce:
