Smuggling into San Diego by Dive Scooter?

These things can't go fast or far or haul much. Interesting approach though...

Agents Arrest 2 Men in Wetsuits Along San Diego Shore

U.S. Border Patrol agents said they discovered two people trying to enter the country illegally using dive scooters.
Agents took two Mexican nationals into custody around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday in Imperial Beach, according to a news release.

The suspects, a 38-year old man and a 16-year old boy were trying to hide by lying in the sand at the time of their arrest, agents said. Each suspect was carrying a dive scooter, a self-propelled underwater device. Agents say they first spotted the pair from the air. The men were walking in wetsuits north on the beach near Seacoast Drive. The Border Patrol aircraft radioed to agents on the ground who then intercepted the pair on the beach. The two were transported to a local Border Patrol station for processing, according to the release.

You gotta admire the ingenuity of these folks. I'm thinking we ought to have a monthly contest. Call it the 'Mojado' prize. Whoever wins gets a free pass.

Here's one of my personal favorites:
