The Blademan and the Osprey

It was right about dusk..and I was driving into Mulege for dinner. I glanced out the window towards the skyline and noticed this nice shilouette.

A nesting pair of ospreys on one of the many highline pole platforms built for their use...courtesy of us friends of feathers.

I imagine them to be chirping softly to each other….”All is right with the world.”

But what they were actually saying was…”Hey, babe, I win…that’s over 50 white pickups today.”

The Mulege Horror

Later, walking along a dark and deserted side street in Mulege I could hear a faint rasping sound... rasp... rasp... rasp.. Sensing some sensation, I rounded a corner and came upon an apparition that sent shivers down my spine...the living embodiment of the bogeyman of our nightmares…

...The Blademan of Mulege...brrrrr

It was an unnaturally gloomy place...almost black, and from the darkness came an unearthly howl.

The whole machete/ax scene had an eerie, surreal quality, like when you’re on vacation in another city and Jeopardy comes on at 7:00 p.m. instead of 7:30.

Perhaps I shouldn't watch any more Freddy Krueger movies...

I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.
