news: Mexican Sentri Program/quick lane

Tijuana's mayor has announced that the city will soon offer passes for a "Sentri like" quick lane to the USA. With the pass, the holder will be permitted entry through a special gate with a very short wait time for crossing.

The fee for the pass is $200 pesos.

This is prefect for my friends who can't get a real Sentri.

200 pesos per crossing sounds expensive but it beats waiting four hours. If there are five people in the car then it comes to 50 pesos per person.

this is same exclusive lane that was set up for tourists who can get a1 time pass by spending more than 1000 pesos at select hotels and restaurants (issued at that facility. I am sure the 200 peso pass will also be for a single crossing only. so unless you will be able to purchase on-line it could be a hassle if you have to stop in TJ to buy it.

Seems expensive if it is only for one crossing.
