Dawn at Coyote Bay - Sunday, Feb 27

I always love these semi-cloudy mornings..so full of color and excitement. A Picassco morning.

I am of course experimenting with different settings, framing, hi-low centering, standing on my head, etc.

In your opinion, which if any are better than the others?..and why you came to that decision? I want to know..and value your input.

Gracias, amigos.

1.

2.

3.

The next three are from the water's edge...where civilization ends and you become part of the food chain. ;)
4.

5.

6.

In the #4-5-6 sunrise over the bay photos above...I changed the elevation in each...which looks best. ie: more water, less sky..or vice versa? (I kinda like more water..but then I'm half fish.)

7.

I am afraid the little hummer flew away just as I was about to snap it's photo. Oh well..manana. For now, just imagine a tiny suparosa sucking away on this red thing. Pretty sure it's some kind of flower?..or maybe a weed.

8.

My 9-5 chairs....zzzzzzz

9.

That moon will hold water by tomorrow..time to go fishing! No, wait...hmm..Monday is poker..so okay, Tuesday fishing then. Hey's, it's Baja-time.

10.

Hello? hellooooo? Well, it's about time! I wonder what's for breakfast? Good gawd..please.. no more oatmeal! Whatever happened to bacon, sausage, hash browns, eggs benedict, pancakes, kippered herring, lutefisk.... :?:

11.

Viola! The Sun Cometh..:D

!Uno mas, por favor!

Roger

Artistically I like #2 and #5. I like the way the arch frames the image in #2, the splash of pastels in the clouds and the water, and the silhouettes provide interest. #5 is classic sunrise, the colors and detail in the sky and the reflection of the sky are beautiful. #5 is composed better than #6, little too much water in #6. But for pure human interest it's hard to beat #10. You offer up a lot of YOU in that image :).

I like all of them.... pleasing effects.

The SAME boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It's about what you are made of NOT the circumstance.

Something about the colors in #5 I love. There's a little more contrast and to me it looks slightly surreal.

Numbers 3 and 5 are my favorites. My criteria is that they actually make me feel like I am right there with you, experiencing the subject, light, colors and shadows at the moment you captured it on your camera...

I like the second two from the water's edge for the reflection of the clouds on the water.

Muchas gracias, all.

I was lucky this morning on having TWO levels of clouds..the sun hitting them at different angles and times. I love the low level clouds over the bay...except FOG!

#5 and 6 are probably best.

I like #11.

And the moon through the palms has potential as an idea. Just needs some more work.

Dennis...I realize what you are kidding about, though. This problem might be of concern to others whose screens will seem to be overwhelmed by the size of my photos.

Here's a good solution, just hold down the control key ..CTRL..while pressing the '- 'key (top right on most keyboards) and the page will be reduced.

Hold down CTRL while pressing the + key to enlarge the page.

Hope that helps.
