Price of Gas South of Primo Tapia
Dear Dennis and others who live in Cantamar, Primo Tapia and all locations south.
Are the Prices of gas still low down your way?
Last I recall I eas paying 8.75 a liter of Magna (Green).
If so I am inclined to wait until I go south again to fill up.
Those of you in the Tijuana area please tell me what you are now paying for a liter of gas?
Also could someone please put up the math formula for changing liters to gallons so I can get a handle on the price of Gas in TJ and PT and South.

google "liters to gallons" and print the page. keep it in your rig and you will be ready..... it makes getting accurate MPG readings easier.

Wish I could help you, Corny, but I don't really know. I just buy the stuff and no longer worry about the price. I have no options anyway.

Dennis is right but I like to occassionally check my mileage and the price per gallon. There are approximately 3.785 liters/gallon. Divide the
price/liter by the exchange rate to get the $ price/liter. For example if you paid 8.75 pesos per liter and the exchange rate is 12 to 1 you paid 73
cents per liter (8.75 divided by 12.) Multiply the 73cents by 3.785 and you'll have the price per gallon ie $2.76/gallon. If you're interested in
checking the mileage just take the liters needed to fill and divide by 3.785 to get the number of gallons used. If it's any consolation we paid an
average of $5.50/gallon on our last trip to Canada so when we fill up in Mexico we are happy campers!!!

It's an ongoing process, Ron. The Peso/Dollar conversion changes throughout the day and the price of gas/fuel/propane rises each month, one or two
percent....forget which.
I know what you mean tho. We have been raised with a need to know.

Gas is approaching $4/gal NOB, and in some places in CA already surpassed that.
Last time fuel prices spiked (2008?) I recall there were stations in the TJ area that ran a dual pricing system just to discourage people from
crossing the border to fill up. I'm guessing we can look forward to deja vu.

Not so much as before. The long waits at the border diminish the returns.

Good point. Didn't think about that. But as I recently saw folks waiting in the drive thru line at Jack in the Box, motors running, to get two free
tacos, ($1.00), it may just be a price point issue. If petrol in the US gets to be twice what it is in Mexico..... who knows?

Yes- correct, I remember that well. The reason I ask for prices in Primo Tapia is because it is just beyond the reach of the border area gas prices.
That's why prices are considerable higher in TJ and the Rosarito area.
