Whats with the painted lanes South of Ensenada
I was heading north yesterday and noticed an area on the new road construction south of Ensenada has been painted with what looks like multiple
checkpoint lanes, about 8 of them. They are in an area of the road that they paved extremely wide. It is south of the Los Animas river bridge and
north of the current military checkpoint. If it is used as a checkpoint of some sort, it looks like it will be affecting traffic heading south. Maybe
their going to start checking for proper papers for people heading south of Ensenada?
Has anyone heard or read anything?

The only things I can imagine them looking for are guns and money. They really arn't too interested in immigration status to the point of aggressivly
controling it for fear of causing an equal reaction north of the border. it's always been like this. They don't want to negatively affect remittances
any more than they have been.

Vehicle Inspection
I read in Ensenada.net a few weeks ago that they will be moving the military checkpoint to that location, and there will also be a "vehicle
inspection" area.....no further details.

Dennis, your reponses are always well thought out and very logical!

Thanks Bob. It's difficult to form any logical assumptions down here so I just guess.

"Maybe their going to start checking for proper papers for people heading south of Ensenada?"
You're talking about the same folks that closed the immigration office at the state border by Guerrero Negro?
My best guess is that with the road construction moving South toward Colonet, this is merely a relocation of the existing checkpoint. But then, what
do I know?

Photo of painted lanes
Here's a pic of the new painted lanes.
Note: I'm traveling south, and the lanes are on my right.
