Rare White Sea Bass caught (Santa Rosalia)

White Sea Bass are a real rarity in our area and I can probaly count on one hand the number of fish I have seen or heard of over the years, but we found a large school of these beautiful fish last Friday and were surprised not only by the size but by the number of fish. Perhaps the lack of squid has brought them to our area looking for food, but they all looked really healthy and strong.

my guess is with the past cool summer these fish are ranging farther than their "normal" areas....

I think they are maybe is best eating of the whole lot
especially the smaller ones,nice fish.

Wev,e caught a good number north of you,and farther north on the west side from the beach.

The smaller fish would mix with corvina and small totuatva in the Gonzaga area

Anyone can catch fish in a boat but only \"El Pescador Grande\" can get them from the beach.

I hope when my time comes the old man will let me bring my rod and the water will be warm and clear.

That is strange. I have never heard of them in SR. I caught my first one last year off Point Loma.

Pescador, Congrats. Expect they're very good eating. Look a lot like the Atlantic sea trout, but much larger.
