Turn right when you get to the park headed south. There is a bank on the right side of the street with ATM.

Thanks for the timely replies. San Quintin will probably be the easiest place to "buy" pesos. Now if the dollar would stop devaluing faster than the peso!

I find it easiest to stop at the banks on the hwy in Colonia Vicente Gu errero at the stoplight. Mountainside of hwy. Park on the right and walk over using the stoplights. There are two close together! Vizcaino also has a new bank with ATM. Mulege, too. Make sure to get travel docs at Vagabundos or Discover Baja. Nos vemos. Tio

CVG sounds like the place to get pesos. That's good news about a bank/atm in Mulege, just in case I get low on taco y cervesa $$. Got all my ins. and other docs through Vagabundos. Been a member for 12 or 13 years, they make it easy.

There's also a good taco stand right there on the corner of the park - Yum!

The same taco shop is in front of the Banks here. The guys that has it at the park in Card##as has one here too.
If you stop here you have to choices. Try Banamex first. The don't run out as fast as HSBC.

Just a warning that is probably no longer necessary - 3 or 4 years ago coming south I didn't get pesos in Ensenada, thinking I would in SQ. When I got there, the phone lines were down all over town and the ATMs did not work.

It does happen on occasion although it has been awhile since I can last remember it happening. It all depends on Telnor...
