FMT $$$

How much does it cost for a FMT form at the border if I am driving to La Paz for 6 weeks? Wondering if it's worth getting a prepaid one from a club for $32. What will I save? Time/Money???:?:

Last I knew, it was approx $23 dlls at the Border,
Travel clubs $39 to join, plus $34 or so for the fmm,
I've never experienced any wait at San Ysidro/TJ
Mex Immigration, I cross at regular hrs

It is an FMM now, as well...

Hola tiotomasbcs,

ATTACKED ??? I SEE NO ATTACK, JUST A VERY IGNORANT, UNNECESSARY RESPONSE !! WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM ???? YES...I AM YELLING !!!!

a very simple and reasonable inquiry is what i see and it seems as though nomads is what it's all about in helping this person out as well as others just wondering what to do and perhaps what the process is.

doesn't seem like an apology is needed from my viewpoint, definitely, none what-so-ever ! I WOULDN'T !!!!!!!

dues to pay ? skateboards ? surfboards ? things for kids ?

isn't it a realization that so many baja travelers do bring so many things down without the agitation and demands of people like yourself ? especially when things are so desperately needed after hurricanes and heavy rains and other natural disasters ? ESPECIALLY the economy that has already trickled down !

WASSUP WICH YOU, BRO ?

i have been taking things down to bcs for 30 years without the poking, prodding and insistence of anyone and so have so many in our fishing group without any thought of any renumeration from anyone or even from our own egos ! just from our and our families hearts !

it is so heartwarming to see the most wonderful people in baja we brought clothing down to to come and say " hasta pronto " when we leave and they are wearing the clothing that we gave them, carrying the fishing poles we gave them and saying thank you for the household items and so many other things that we brought down for them. yes, we do see what their needs are when they invite us to their homes for meals.

being TOLD to do this would definitely stop at least me from doing so as i won't be told what to do. NOBODY TELLS ME HOW TO SPEND MY MONEY OR TIME !!!!!!!!!!!

no matter what, i know the majority norteamericanos will always help out our southerly neighbors without being dictated to.

there are no dues to pay but most certainly, there are blues in baja as there is in all parts of the world.

you must realize that so many gringos also contribute to so many valuable necessities such as health realated items such as diabetes and dental programs and especially, education for our so deserving youngsters who would not be able to continue their education without our help.

Please change your attitude and act responsivley, not as your posting name implies " UNCLE TOMAS " OR UNCLE TOM.

we do know who uncle tom is in " LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS ",
SI ?

NO ? LEAR !

BIEN SALUD, DA RAT

If this is not acceptable to fellow nomads, u2u and i will log off and say " ADIOS ".

OK, OK, OK,... I'm Sorry For Every Thing I Have Said About Sticking To The Subject Of The Forum... I don't have any skateboard gear I can give away, but, I got a truck load of fishing gear I may be able to part with. Sorry again. I'd love to help out. I am generous. Every time I leave Baja I give away half of what I packed. When I am fishing on the beach I give away fish, and lures every chance I get. I just don't have any skate board stuff. I'm SORRY. I don't know what to say. I am just looking for some simple travel info. that's all. I'm sorry I said anything to offend you and your cause. Please forgive me.

There is no advantage to buying a FMM from a travel service. If you do the math and write down the steps, there is no time savings nor financial savings to pre-purchase and in some cases those pre-puchase visas are not recognized as valid due to any variation in the process. And in fact it is more time-consuming and more expensive. If you want to know, do the math, write down the steps, make a check list of what you will do to cross.

It's like the frogger video game, what is the shortest way across a river?

DK, If I was a Dis Baja member, and bought their Mex Ins,
I STILL wouldn't get a prepaid fmm, you save nada tiempo,
and as gunkid said, they MAY reject it

Now you know I agree with you as far as crossing at Tijuana is concerned... However, if you cross at Tecate or any border where there is no bank at the border OPEN when you cross... THEN, the pre-paid one is a life saver! All you need to do is have it stamped when you enter Mexico...

FMM cost

Was $23 US dollars at Otay about 3 weeks ago. Friend had to exchange dollars for pesos with the money exchangers to get his FMM. They only took pesos.

I may have asked before, but because it is critical if folks want to use Otay for the rapid way south via Corredor 2000: What hours/ days is the Otay Border Bank Teller open for FMM payments (unless they have a pre-paid FMM)?
