Mining operations
The mining operations right off M5 north of San Felipe has an interesting project going on. From what I could see....around the bend of the main mine
operations....there were 3-4 earth moving tractors, front loaders...ect. 10 - 15 acres of desert had been leveled, power lines brought in. Mega
operation.
Are they building a city for the workers or ?
Anyone?

I was told they are building a community for workers. Now they have several buses running from San Felipe and Mexicali to transport workers. At leas
one motel in San Felipe is completely full of mine workers - and has been for several months.

This area they are doing is huge! How many workers are expected eventually?

Don't kn ow how many, but they are really expanding the mining - you can hear and see dust from blasting almost every day, getting into new areas.
Running miles of power lines to the pumps in Arroyo Grande, along with a new water line beside the older one. Big stuff!
What I have heard is just from around town - the mining company hasn't confided in me (as yet)_.

This is all thanks to the increase in value of gold... making mining the yellow ore profitable again! Sadly, it is in proportion to the falling value
of the dollar!
