Quake reported in northern Baja

August 26, 2004

CALEXICO ? A small earthquake was reported in northern Baja California last night.

The magnitude-3.1 temblor struck at 7:58 p.m. and was centered in Mexico about 30 miles southeast of Calexico, according to preliminary data from the U.S. Geological Survey.

A dispatcher with the Imperial County Sheriff's Department said there were no reports of damage or injury.

A magnitude-4.2 temblor struck in about the same area Saturday evening. No damage was reported.

I think it depends on the definition of 'normal' when referencing earthquakes?

I am fascinated by earthquakes.

Did you see this?

Earthquakes happen all the time, 100's per day in Baja and Alta California.
We just can't feel then ones smaller than around 3.5.

That 5.1, however would shake things up, Ill bet they felt that in El Rosario.
I love earthquakes too, Like going to Disneyland without paying $50.

And they don't just happn in CA....
