Baja Sur's Imposter Bird

Lucky me, I just got a shot of the rare Southern Imposter Bird. I've only seen one other, it took on the shape of a racoon but I didn't have my camera with me. I suppose, in the photo below, the bird hopes to lure in juvenile bobcats but the call was a dead give-a-way to me. Any of you out there that doubt the authenticity of the photo, ask yourself why or how that thing got up there.

Lurking here I have learned fiction is your forte and truth not so much.

More importantly have also learned you are a good sport about it all.

That photo and variations of it have made the rounds of the desert flora and fauna websites for quite some time.

How about a realtime photo of the new marina progress?

They won't let cameras anywhere close to the project. Google Earth is almost real time for this area and you can see the canals forming -- they are filled with water but it's not from the sea as the main channel opening between the jetties is not yet open to let the sea water in. 100% of the work being done now is well to the west of my house -- they will showcase that area first and if and when they can finish, my eastern end will be last.

I think you are mocking me with your handle, Gordoyfeo but you are right about truth telling. I have to post a disclaimer every few months about truth vs other than truth.

When I was younger I used to lie so much that my friends caught me telling the truth and I lied my way out of it.
