At Fumigaciones stores in larger towns, they sell concentrated fumigating items for various specific different types of creatures....but I know that the termite one kills pretty much everything else that crosses it's path....spiders, ants, scorpions, garrapatas (ticks), unfortunately it also kills geckos which eat a lot of the smaller pests that find their way inside. Most have long-term residual effect, but are safe for domestic pets once it's dried. All the ones I've used are concentrates to be mixed with water & applied via a pressurized sprayer.

Dunno in small villages....I'd check hardware stores. Diazone is still sold here.

All Nomads should use this product

This product works extremely well for little biking buggers......

Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

bring the strongest "deet" you have available, with you....the repellant down here that's available smells SO bad you won't like it..just focus on the "deet" part.

good questions! what exactly do you want to repel? deet is amazing on mosquitoes and similar bugs but jejenes from what I've seen (itched?) are an entirely different matter. best to avoid them...camp away from the beach a ways and have a good tent with the proper netting. they can be brutal brutal brutal and I bet most nomads have a horror story. backs of legs and elbows and hands seem to be their preferred stomping grounds. so even if you deet up on them, they will find the weak link.

two weeks after returning from baja and you think "when WILL this ever stop itching!".

no.

I am looking for
DDT
which has a long name
DichloroDiphenylTrichloroethane

indoor use, spray, 3 days later all bugs are dead.
take care not to come into direct contact with DDT

note: deet does not work on the pesky little black nats in the mouontains.

Lemon Eucalyptus is second best to deet for mosquitoes, without the health risk

easiest solution for bugs indoors is screens on doors and windows!

ddt? sounds silly. i think it's only used in a few countries for malarial mosquitoes.

What do you use to keep the flies from swarming around your south end, Goat? Must be something powerful.
