Winch bumper recommendation?
Am looking at a couple of winch bumpers on line to install on my 2000 Tacoma. Any suggestions from those with experience will be appreciated.

ARB's are great.
I use my winch in baja all the time, it gets te most use pulling out stuck tourists in little economy cars. They are not trophy trucks or sand rails
by the way.
Surfers also get stuck a lot.

Bad attempt at a joke.
I lived on the coast most of my life and have had several vehicles with winches on them. T most handy thing i ever carried along was a 15lb. drag
anchor saved my bacon many times. in the old days most winch builders offered a line of bumpers also.

Thanks for the response. Since February, I've pulled 3 stuck rigs out, but I'm sure my time's coming. Since I'd rather be prepared, and I already
have a winch but no where to put it. The ARB website linked to Les Schwab, but their website is worthless. I'll have to call or check in when I'm
NOB. Hope they are not more than the truck is worth.

Mission Santa Maria Trail - El Valle de los Cirios
We used yank straps and in one spot I almost needed a winch cable to pull me up a bad section of Mission Impossible Trail last week.

An arb for a toyota will run about $900.

another thing that you can do is have a mount/bumper fabricated at a welding shop. If you live in mulege, this would be the route I'd go. Search the
internet for TOYOTA TACOMA WINCH BUMPERS, IMAGES. once you find one you like take it into the welding shop. Make sure there are no advertised prices
on the printout. It'll be much easier and cheaper than going NOB and buying a bumper.

If you go this route make sure you have a good system to secure the winch/mount. I know lots of people who've had theirs stolen.
You also have to worry about regular mounted winches, as they too disappear. I tack welded all mounting hardware for the bumper and winch to make the
removal difficult with out the right tools.
