Really? Now...before I get into trouble, the shots are picturesque and fun, but the color has been worked on and looks like the waves have been
spray painted.
The color of the water would only be possible if extremely shallow to reflect the blue of the sky. [actually, I think the blue is unnatural under any
circumstances]
Again...I'm saying the shots are good for what they are, but unenhanced?? No way.

Could the effects have come from a longer exposure at sunset? The sun sets there to the right of the photo, behind the point.........

Good point, the angle of the setting sun. In order for the water surface to reflect the sky, as it pretends to do, it would have to be overhead. That
foto illustrates high-noon illuminance.
His camera, the EOS-1, could handle anything without having to resort to innadaquate shutter speed.
Anyway, it's a pleasant shot. Calendar quality, perhaps.

Intentional Long exposure shots are a common tool shooting water, waves, water falls etc. The glow on the house and vehicles does suggest sunset.

I hear ya. I go to a few Pac side places where the sun rises over the ocean.
Its totally different sitting in the line up facing a sunrise than so cal with the sun at your back.
Some of these spots have prevailing all day offshores.
God I miss Baja!!!!

Fantastic photo. But, I totally agree with Dennis here.
The SAME boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It's about what you are made of NOT the circumstance.

I agree with Willy on the time exposure technique, common technique for water shots.
The color of the water is from editing. Overdone a touch for my taste.

FWIW
We are all seeing different colors in that image. Some users are using 16 bit while others are using 24 and some at 32 bit. The monitor settings are
all different too, contrast, brightness etc. Also, the quality of the viewers video cards is a variable. Also, on that camera, there are color balance
and color correction controls, so the colors can be enhanced/altered/edited with in the camera pre or post.
When I do graphics and photos for websites, I must view them on different monitors and choose a solution that looks good on most monitors unless the
target audience is a high tech group, tv studios, photographers, ad agencies etc. Alternately, if the target is mobile units, the graphics must be
dumbed down to look good on those units.
It used to be that websites would only show 256 colors (web safe colors), now most monitors display millions. Photos must be optimized for the web and
the photo above is less than 1m, so it has been greatly optimized, probably from 12 m to 1m, so the colors get altered/reduced.
