they are going to spend $3 million for signs to get from TJ airport to Ensenada but we can't get our pot holes filled. - WTF

Mexican Government, will invest three million dollars for road signs
by Baja Daily News (BDN) on 05/18/11


Ensenada, BC - In a budget item between the Ministry of Communications and Transport (SCT), Secretaria de Turismo (Secture) and the State Government, will invest three million dollars for road signs on federal Baja California.
"From the bridge to take the international road from Tijuana to San Diego, federal highway Tijuana-Ensenada, Tecate-Ensenada to Tecate, Mexicali and others will have new road signs," said Juan Tintos Funcke, SECTUR.

Whoever wrote that article used Google to translate it from the Spanish. It actually says $3 million PESOs, or about $255,000, and that is for 10 different tourist related projects, not just signs.

It's a constant complaint of mine that most publications will rely only on the dollar sign -$- and not specify the currency.

My rule of thumb is, if the article or whatever is generated in Mexico, it's Pesos unless otherwise specified.

They are working on the streets around Rosarito, but Popotla Blvd. going south is a real MESS-and they just redid the road last year!

Yeah.....redoing the road and redoing it properly are two different things.
Our Maneadero Road , which was full of holes only a few months back, was fixed by a citizens group, the Pabloff family organization, only a month back and the baches are returning with a vengeance.

If the road wasn't properly compacted in the beginning, it will be difficult to repare. The problem still exists.
