Shell Island May 14

For the Shell Island Fan Club!! Beach was deserted except for few Mexican fisherman. Trip was good.

Panga

Took the Waverunner down the beach at high tide. The beach perspective is much different from the water.

Bahia Santa Maria

South Shell Island looking toward SM - high tide

This look familiar?

Good fishing spot south of "This look familiar?"

Great to see the island from the sea like that Chris! Wow, that was a major high tide! The last photos is the area we camp near, Ken Cooke set up at that palapa frame on July 4th... will be there soon!

Dave, it was an 18'4" high. Was able to access the beach up until an 17'8". After that too much water and mud. No fish this trip? They just were not there! But we all had a good time and of course the cerveza was cold! Will be back down in 3 weeks. Percebu was quiet. Try the fish tacos at the Cantina-most excellent!

OK, where is the cantina?

David, when are you going down to Shell island?

Bob H

The SAME boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It's about what you are made of NOT the circumstance.

Cantina is at Rancho (Laguna) Percebu, I believe Chris is talking about.

We leave for Shell Island in less than 72 hours!

10-4 Chuck... the family is really excited to go back, for daughter Kristi, it will be her first time in Baja on the island... and I am always happy to be in Baja!

Jonna will be ready to take more great photos, like this one she took her first time there, last September:

Low tide... and in 6 hours this point will be ~16-18 feet under water!

10-4 Chris... I looked at the tide chart and while we like big tides, it won't be high enough to flood the salt flat, so no muddy mess under our trucks getting onto the island!

Last year we did the Mision Santa Maria Nomad group trip for Memorial Day. The 2 years before we were on the island for Memorial Day:
