Julián Leyzaola Pérez Attacked in Ciudad Juárez

The former police chief of Tijuana, Julián Leyzaola Pérez, was attacked as his convoy travelled through downtown Ciudad Juarez today. He was uninjured.

He needs a bigger convoy- the Narcos are rolling in convoys 130 SUV's long:

Conflicting versions of the event, as usual. I'm always hoping the best for that brave guy. He changes his work routine daily and eats and sleeps in his office. I did see Pres. Calderon complained to Clinton today about the killing of the Mexican man who (allegedly) threw rocks at the BP after a failed crossing near downtown Tijuana. I am guessing that's the position of his political party? Immigration rights before the drug war at home?

Absolutely.

He is much more popular appearing to champion immigrants rights than talking about what is becoming an increasingly unpopular and viewed as failed drug war. More and more people down here see this as Mexico selling out and paying the ultimate price for a drug war that they believe should be shared equally across the border...

If nothing else, the next Mexican presidential election should be quite interesting.

Where does the PRD stand on this issue?

Generally 180 degrees opposite of the stated position of the USA, whatever that is on just about any issue...

We need to just legalize drugs in the US and stop this BS in it's tracks.
