Anyone traveling past Ascuncion up through San Diego in 2nd half of August?

Hi All,

I'm excited to have finally signed up successfully to Baja Nomad membership (after many months of online viewing) ...this looks like a really active, helpful and informative group to be part of.

I am planning a trip to Bahia Ascuncion with another board member during the first week of August but will need to arrange a ride back during the 3rd week of August. I can help drive, share on gas, etc....anyone heading back to San Diego area during that time period?

Thanks much!

Susan

Hi, Dominica, and welcome to Nomads! You're gonna love it here on the Central Coast in August-- the weather's perfect, and Asuncion's Fiesta Days are happening. Yer in for some fun times!

Don't worry about getting back north. I'm sure it'll happen smoothly for you except you soooo won't wanna leave.

See you next month! Mulegena (i gotta change my name to Asuncionista 'cause I'm over on the lovely Pacific side now)

Hola Susan and welcome to the Nomads. My wife Shelley and I will be going down to BA around Aug. 9th and will be staying for 2 or 3 weeks. If our departure back to the US (we'll be stopping in Poway to visit our kids) meets with your needs you will be more than welcome to join us. We stop in San Quintin for the night on our return north. Paul and Shelley Boe

Dear Paul and Shelley

Thanks so much for the welcome and news of your trip plans. It looks like I will be travelling down with someone who is returning home to BA - definitely before the fiesta - and that's why I'll need the ride back.....either to downtown SD if that is along the way. This sounds like it could work, I'll let you know when I have a full solidification on my plans. In any case, it is very nice to hear from you!

All the best,

Susan

Hi Mulegena,

Thanks so much for your kind welcome. Shari mentioned that I'd love August as well and I'm sure I won't want to leave. I'm actually doing this trip as an evaluation of where my new home base will be in Baja as of 2012 (it has been the Caribbean for 20 years) and am considered areas around Ensenada but Bahia Ascuncion seems to be a wonderful spot from all that I've researched and heard from Zoe and Shari.

I'd stay longer but have to leave country by the end of August.....but I have the feeling I'll return come January! Can't wait to meet everyone there as it sounds like a great little community.

So you have moved to the 'other side' huh? Must mean it is terrific. Let's keep in touch and I'd love to meet you when I arrive...

All the best,

Susan
