Baja Beach Bash / Los Monos Baseball weekend

As luck would have it, two great Baja events we were involved with landed on the same weekend. Thankfully, they were taking place in the same general region, so we were still able to
spend some time with each event.

This is how it went down.....

We headed out last Thursday morning for Erendira and made the requisite stop at Los Traileros in Ensenada for a taco lunch. Always delicious!

Heading into Santo Tomas there was a bit of road construction going on but the detour on dirt was pretty short. We arrived at our friends house in Erendira at around 3 pm and got settled in. We had a great grilled rib dinner and sat around the fire enjoying the company of friends.

That night we had a pretty amazing moonrise...

Friday morning we headed out of Erendira to meet up with the Baja Beach Bash crew who were heading south out of Ensenada. The Baja Beach Bash is a moto fun ride put on by Tim Morton, Cameron Steele and Johnny Campbell that is a fundraiser for the Santa Marta orphanage in San Vicente. We met up with the 35 riders and shot video of them as they made their way south. The nice folks from Wide Open Baja served up an awesome lunch for the whole crew on a remote bluff that was really beautiful.

The Baja Beach Bash crew makes another pit stop on their way south....and a few of the pro riders made it interesting by launching up the incline between the parking lots....video to follow! After that we headed south to the hotel for the night.

On Saturday morning we headed north with the Beach Bash crew and got some great footage of the hill climb and then headed back to Erendira for the baseball game between Los Monos from San Diego and Los Indios from Erendira.

We got back to to town just in time to see the Monos start to recover from blowing a nine point lead against Los Indios in the eighth inning. The Monos barely came out on top with a clutch triple that put the winning run across the plate at the very last minute!

After the game, school supplies were given out to the local kids and 10 educational scholarships provided by Los Monos and their friends were awarded to the top students in town.

On the way home we made another stop at Los Traileros before heading home. The border wait was not great.....2.5 hours....but we were expecting worse. It was a great weekend overall!

Viva Baja!
