cftlet...
Have you checked your local Craigslist RVs?
There have been several on the San Diego Craigs lately.
How much do you want to spend?
Have you considerd a Callen? They are favored by MANY Baja travelers and outdoorsmen. Not as fancy as most popups...more for sleeping. But VERY WELL
MADE with welded steel tube frame. Here's a couple on the S.D. Craigs.

You might want to check out the wander the west forum.
Go to "Truck Campers" then four wheel campers user group.
Also go to "Gear Exchange"
This website is where we found ours.
Good luck!

My CALLEN camper is now 28 years old, on it's second pickup, and still going strong---------never a roof leak, and only tiny window frame leaks that
were cured with sealer fast, and never had any problems after that. Been on many horrible roads in Baja many times, and never a problem-------these
are "one tough camper", believe me. (steel frame, and heavy)
I am not sure they are still in business tho-------in El Cajon.??????

When shoping for a pop up camper i looked at many. Ultimately I selected a Northstar, The main selling point was the 6ft high rear entry door I do not
like banging my head on short doors.
What ultimately led me to get rid of the pop up there was not any storage. when we stopped it had to be unloaded so you cauld get in it.
If you are into traveling light they are nice.
