New Palapa Restaurant in Bahia Asuncion

It really is a new location for the Verduzco Hotel Restaurant. When the old Tres Hermanos was torn down, Gloria Verduzco moved Tres Hermanos to her home on the beach, Pinos Locos---the green house and it is still one of our favorite places to eat.

Her sister, Yoli Verduzco opened a small cafe at the Hotel in one of the rooms, but they have now moved that restaurant across the street next to the water. Not everything is complete, but it has been open for a several weeks now and it is very good.

No sign and no menu---just drive into the lot by the library across the street from the hotel and you see the large palapa and ask for what you want.

It is such a pleasant location and you are welcome to occupy the hammock while you wait.

It is a very clean place with very friendly service and people. Often other members of the family are there helping out.

Yoli's salsa is not for the faint of heart--- it is really good and quite hot.

And the owner and our friend who aims to please --- Yoli.

It is a really nice place to kick back and enjoy the food and the people. They are continuing to add more to this new location.

When you see the hotel, just look across the street.

Last trip to Asuncion without the family, Gloria and Yoli kept me well fed.
If I couldn't understand the menu, they would take me in the kitchen and show me.
Both very nice ladies and pretty good cooks.

Your story about rolling into BA after dark several years ago is one of my favorites as it is such a good example of what Gloria and her family are like.

Gloria and her restaurant.

Both places look lovely, and I wanna go check 'em out.

Who's in?

The weather these days is spot-on perfect for dining al fresco, hammock or no, and Gloria's kitchen looks absolutely immaculate, both sisters appear so proud, and I'm guessing rightfully so.

btw, Diane, your hammock picture is a winner.
