Anyone Here Know This Guy???

Gringo Eddie from Tortuga? Spends his time at Camp Malarrimo and has a taste for the sauce. Trying to get in touch with him, wondering if he's still around. I'm fixing to visit him at the camp and wouldn't want to show up unannounced. Ringing any bells with anyone here?

Perhaps a description of him and / or his vehicle would help your search here.

Sorry, McFez - I should have not been so presumptuous but I would say if you met Eddie you'd never forget him. He is really something. But here goes:

Seems to live at Campo Malarrimo. White American, speaks Spanish, no vehicle, looks like Tim Leary, drunk always, I mean DRUNK always, everyone at Tortuga knows him, always tells stories, writes letters, as close to a baja expat bum as I've seen - in fact he might be just that. He laughs a lot. actually - I have a picture - I'll put it up tomorrow (its 2:am in Japan right now).

This info I assume ...would help find the person in question... for you. Good luck with this.

Japan? Wow! We got a few Baja bandidos and you got a few glowing reactors :o

Last I personally have heard of him was mid 2010. He was staying in a VW van about 1/2 mile west of the first Pemex as you come into town. He could still be there.
I will be in Campo Malarrimo near Christmas time this year and I'll let you know.

Udo - good to see you again. Your advice of Malarrimo was spot on! Thank you and thank you for the sighting on Gringo Eddie! So sorry I'm not going to be there around Xmas but, as you probably already know, I'll be there (Baja and around) all of Nov! I'd like to shake your hand someday but perhaps some other time.

Goat - Eddie was instrument to the outcome of our mission and he stole the show! At the time it seemed he was living at the fish camp in a shack. As far as a trailer goes - and at the risk of getting every Baja genius correcting the factual information of the film - I can upload a sneak peak for the members of BajaNomad. I'll try to get to it before my two week hike in Japan coming up either Thurs or Fri. I'll make an announcement if anyone is interested.

Dennis - I meant it - he is a good looking guy - it was not a joke - I am very fond of Eddie. No points for being charming, I guess.

Why... to get to Malarrimo Beach without a 4x4, of course.
