Take the main street down from the highway to the water. Turn right. If you pass it, make a U'trn in front of Hotel Oasis. If you pass it, make a U'turn at the street you just came in on and if you pass it on the right, make a u'turn in front of hotel osasis and if you pass it . . .

A great cafe/bar right on the malecon in Loreto...a must-stop and good place to pick fishing scuttlebutt, too. We met Don Alley and Paula there a few years back. Great lunch and cold beer!

I was there last time I was in Loreto and didn't even know the name. We were the only gringos there, service was OK but the attitude was off. Felt like a small hole in the wall. I remember the mirror and it was distracting for this dyslectic. Since this appears to be an American hangout maybe someone could print up a flyer to explain Happy Hour Specials? We all enjoyed the cold beers and the meals we had were good. Didn't there use to be a much bigger place next door that was definitely tourist orientated? Something about Parrots? I liked that place for a drop in from airport duty.

Yeah Russ. Not much action during daytime hours, but business picks up around 4.pm. Even our regular imbibers keep hours, I guess.:P:P
Macaw's next door closed a while ago and was never the same after the original owner (John) passed away from a heart attack at an early age. His Mexican in-laws tried running it, but weren't very succesful.

Why is it that every time I've been to Augie's, it was populated by a bunch of old, bald men???

I'll go back. It's one of the few bars I can go to that I feel young!

Retired and still on two wheels!
