Man Fook Lo Cantonese Restaurant Equivalent in Baja?
I was just following an intense Chowhound discussion about the much-loved, departed Man Fook Lo Cantonese restaurant in Chinatown, Los Angeles.
My family used to go there once a month in the '60's.
Is there an equivalent in Baja?

I begin to judge Chinese restaurants by the Fried Rice, and I've yet to find a quality equivlant in Mexico as that which is almost common above the
border.
I have not, however, had an opportunity to do a Fried Rice tour through Mexicali. Perhaps....some day when I have the misfortune to spend some time
there.

Fried Rice Chow Tour?
I am there.
As long as the outside temperature is bearable.
Last time in Mexicali it was 115 degrees and I was very sick from heat poisoning.

Mexicali Chinese Restaurants
My ex husband was from Mexicali and I can say without a doubt that the Chinese food there was excellent (someone told me once that the Chinese came to
build railroads there)...after a long drive through La Rumerosa and through La Salada we would stop and enjoy a great meal...
Ensenada, I have to say has the absolute WORST chinese food I have ever tasted, smothered in grease, although Charles Grey has told me Dragon La
Cabana is good..I order mine with menos aceite por favor!! Quote: | Originally posted by DENNIS

HA!
I knew that is was only a matter of time before someone went there.
But that really was the name of the restaurant and in the interests of being accurate as opposed to fearing being mocked, I went with accuracy.

Certainly not in La Paz. Don't even get me started on sushi.

Theres a decent chinese restaurant across from Soriana, and we have two pretty good sushi restaurants, one is Vivi sushi in the malecon, and the other
is Odayaka sushi at Costa Baja.

I wonder what happened to Ayds. I think they were one of the first diet foods around. Did they change their name or did they just give it up?
