La Paz mayor voted one of the best mayors in Mexico

Right now on national TV, Milenio television, they are announcing the best and worst governors, mayors, companies, etc etc in Mexico for 2011. Mayor Ponce has just made it into the top 6.

Told you we have a kick a** mayor.

She has not been in office long enough to be judged! But we have hopes.

Why does she show so much promise? Does she have big rack or somethin' like that?
Must be something that some can see to give her this much credibility.

I volunteered to do graffiti removal- first project-- the new whale's tale park where graffiti was in place before it opened. No reply- graffiti still there-- getting worse throughout the town. it's community image and lots of folks are willing to help but so far no word from the city or mayor.

That didn't last long- huh Jesse?

http://colectivopericu.wordpress.com/2011/11/10/medios-y-rem...

Zeta magazine dropped a bomb on the new mayor, who ran on the platform that she was not a corrupt politician and her administration would be transparent.

Apparently a disgruntled municipal worked released six documents that show contracts to purchase automobiles and equipment and for three studies were issued without a competitive bidding process, which happens to be required by internal policies.

Unfair

Woooosh, wouldn't it stand to reason that the best Mexican politician would also be the most corrupt?

With these latest revelations she should jump up a few spots. From #6 to maybe 3 or 2.

Problem is, its not true. There was a bidding process, and the companies that won where hired. She already showed the papers where the bidding process WAS done.

Lo grave es que las unidades fueron sobrevaluadas porque, de un costo real de 190 mil pesos, precio de agencia, fueron facturadas en 348 mil 839 pesos con 99 centavos cada una, es decir, poco más del cien por ciento de su valor real.

I think I read that 35+ mayors in Mexico had been murdered this year, she has to one tough mayor,..... or on the take.
